I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend spent with family and friends. I’m so thrilled to finally share our 2017 family Christmas pictures. Last year we shot our Christmas cards in Uptown Charlotte. This year we opted for a more Southern Country look with two of our favorite furry friends. This mama & daughter duo of donkeys seemed interested in the Christmas trees more than anything.
This year has been so insanely busy with moving but I somehow managed to get our Christmas shoot in before Thanksgiving. Evan commented how impressed he was that we go it in so early. Normally, we are rushing to get our cards out before Christmas Day. But hey, progress. Luckily this year we had the support of my parents who helped create this little Christmas scene for our shoot. We compiled some of our favorite Christmas pieces to make our own unique shoot location.
I really applaud all of you who send a cute Christmas card with your kids and dogs and you are all smiling at the camera. I’m not sure I can ever do that. Wrestling two dogs who are very interested in the surrounding farm life is no easy task. Thankfully my parents were there for support and help. We have a few seriously funny behind the scenes photos that I will share in Instagram stories. Be on the lookout for that. I kind of considered putting one of those on our Christmas card because hey, real life.
Anyway, I bought this skirt before I had really planned out our shoot but I am so happy I chose it. I loved the black with pops of red. I highly recommend it for your own shoot or even holiday work party. I recommend sizing up, as well. I normally wear a 2 in a skirt but the lady at Express told me a size 2= a size 6 in this particular skirt. I ended up buying the 6 and it was a perfect fit. You can’t see it well in the photos but this skirt has a beautiful bow in the front/side (oh, and it has pockets).
I hope you enjoyed our Christmas look!
