So if you are going to Puerto Rico, you have to buy a hot pink Spanish-style dress, right? Once I found this dress, I knew it would be perfect to wear in Puerto Rico. Old San Juan has a “Charleston” vibe because of the colors and old architecture-I knew I needed something (1) cool and (2) bright for exploring this Spanish city.
The Puerto Rico stop was on our actual 5th anniversary which ended up being great because Puerto Rico was my FAVORITE stop. I truly enjoy exploring cities especially cities with charm. While in Puerto Rico, we went to two Spanish forts, Castillo San Cristobal and Castillo San Felipe del Morro. Both were on top of a hill and overlooked the ocean which was stunning. The architecture inside Castillo San Cristobal was phenomenal with rounded door-ways and white walls with ocean view windows letting the sea breeze in. While we were inside, a group of girls in another room began singing the old hymn “It is Well.” Evan and I just stood in awe. The way the rooms echoed and because we could only hear them (we couldn’t see them from where we were standing)…it was mesmerizing.
After the Forts, we went shopping and then grabbed lunch. I had no idea but apparently Evan has a whole album of photos of me looking into taco shops trying to see if they were open. I can “hunt” a taco a mile away. What can I say? I love tacos. I mean if you are going to Puerto Rico, you have to eat some authentic tacos?! Let me just tell you, they were amazing and worth the hunt. I would seriously go back just to eat the tacos. In all seriousness, Puerto Rico was romantically beautiful and this dress was the perfect addition to a beautiful day.
